Heajoo (Yvonne) Lee

My passions lie at the intersection of fashion design and CMF (color, material, and finish) design, with a focus on creative and functional design, trend research and forecasting, and sustainable, biodegradable materials. I am deeply engaged in projects and research that merge innovation with environmental responsibility, consistently exploring ways to integrate creativity and sustainability.

As an international designer with experiences in both South Korea and the United States, I bring a unique multicultural and global perspective. Navigating cultural differences and adapting to life in the U.S. has shaped my ability to embrace new environments while confidently expressing diverse viewpoints.

With over 15 years of experience as a fashion design professional and educator, I am dedicated to shaping the next generation of designers through innovative curriculum development and hands-on learning. My expertise spans various facets of fashion design, with an increasing focus on human-centered design practices and sustainable material development.

Throughout my career, I have led successful collaborations with industry partners and interdisciplinary teams, fostering a dynamic learning environment for students. I am passionate about guiding aspiring designers, nurturing their creativity, and equipping them with the skills needed to thrive in the ever-evolving fashion landscape.

Looking ahead, I am excited about the transformative potential of sustainable design and its pivotal role in shaping a more responsible and forward-thinking fashion industry.
